Apprently there’s a lot of things WordPress don’t "like". Flash seems to be one of them since you need plugins to make it (possibly) work.
I’ve installed a plugin called pb-embedFlash and it actually works. It makes it very easy to add flash to your WordPress pages. Though there is a problem.
I made a small gallery, loading pictures through a XML-file, and the plugin won’t touch the XML. It pretends like it’s not there. (Stupid.)
But I think I’ve found a way to work around that which means I can finally upload some flash to my portfolio. That’ll be nice.
(Not really sure I’ll do it right now though.)
Oh, and by the way… Here’s a tip on how to write validated not-messed-up code in WordPress!
First of all you turn of the visual code mode. It’s just good at spoiling your code and making it impossible to validate once you’ve edited it once or twice. Instead you use the code mode and write your code "raw".
Now, I don’t like that small little box that WordPress have for you to write in. I lose track of what I’m writing really fast.
Instead I write all my text in DreamWeaver and paste the code into WordPress. Easy. And really fast. (Go DreamWeaver!)
(Hehe, talk about blunder… I was going to validate my code again just to check and found that the favicon tag wasn’t closed. Duh!)

This is a very long school post. (I’m not going to translate it.)

Finally! Everything works! The page is validated and green. I have a static front page and the flash banner works. Yay!
And now I have a favicon…

This has been a looong day. It didn’t turn out the way I thought it would. Instead of writing my report I found myself editing the homepage for the group assignment. Or rather I was meant to be editing it, but the original code didn’t work properly so I had to redo most of it.
Now it works the way it was intended with every bit of my design included. (And David’s of course.)
It was hard getting this website to work the way it should. I’ve have no real experience with div layer before and I think they mostly mess things up. (There is a reason why God invented tables!)
Ah, well… It works now – and damn well too, if I may say so myself! :)

It works! It looks the same in all four browsers – without a single hack! Ha!
Here’s what’s left to do:
- Flash up the title banner
- Make customized avatars
- Upload stuff to the gallery and organize stuff
- Oh, yes… Write the report. Mustn’t forget.

Small progress, but that’s always something. Choosing a theme has caused much thinking the last couples of day. You might have thought that should be the easy part, but oh no… Choosing a theme has been my number one problem since this project started months ago. I really had no idea what kind of portfolio to make.
So now I’m making this thing… It’ll be pretty good. Not really what I was looking for, but… It’ll do. For now.
Oh, right… I’ve installed Safari. So now I have IE, FF, Opera and Safari. That will have to do.

Well, well… Today was a dreadful day. I had a moment of desperation that lasted for about five horrible hours today.
It’s like this… My ambition level is always somewhere around 120%, but my motivation level may vary. Today it was way below zero. And when it’s below zero it’s often because I see no meaning what so ever in what I’m currently doing. Right now this assignment feels like a ton of bricks on my head.
Alright, I see the point in having a portfolio. I’ve been meaning to do one for some time now so it’s a good assignment. The group assignment on the other hand… Give me a break! Everyone knows group assignments never work out the way you wish they would, quite the opposite! It’s just stupid.
There. I’ve said it. Stupid. As hell. :X
Now if you excuse me, I have to get back to work. Hopefully it won’t kill me before Monday.
(Maybe after though.) :S

Let’s see… What do I have to do today? I think I’ll apply some makeup to this place. The old WordPress theme is really dull. So today I go theme hunting! Yay!
Truth to be told I’m not exactly jumping around out of joy right now. I’m sick and tired of school eating away what’s left of my so called ”winter break”.
No, I’m not happy. Try furious, that’d be closer to what I’m feeling right now.
But let’s not forget this will be a school blog. So the really furious things I’d prefer to write will have to stay private. For now at least. Time to get back to work. :S

Let’s see if the language filter works…
Yes, it does! Thumbs up!

Alright, WordPress is up and running! It didn’t take the promised 5 minutes but that was mainly my own fault. Turned out I had forgotten the “new” password to the database. Ehem. The same password I changed two years ago when I set up the AA forum.
But as you can see I found it again.
I’ve added Lightbox and avatars. Next thing to do: Everything else.
