I’ve entered as a voluntary test pilot of a Canon EOS 550D.
It will be very exciting to see how it goes. It would indeed be very nice to test a new camera. Thanks for the tip, Ann!
And what can be more appropriate in a post about photographing than to upload some new photos to the portfolio? It’s a lot of flowers – but okay all my pictures in the photo gallery are of plants or animals so that’s nothing new.
Anyway, here is a compote of black currants, bleeding-heart, plum tree flowers, forget-me-nots, anemones and white strawberries. Sounds yummy, right?
This was my contribution to the latest art contest over at Catahya.
It won.
Some say the moon is a cheese.
Some say it’s an orange.
I say it’s a lime.
I’m very pleased with the colors. They look happy and… full of vitamins.
Spring is in the air and certainly in this WordPress theme I did for Martina Michal and her blog Blue Velvet.
Here’s a description of the theme: Just as sweet and soft as the fuzzy cheek of an apricot in a warm summer breeze. Fitting, right?
If someone out there still thinks all I can do is dark, fantasy designs – think again.
While spring is making huge progress outside with snowdrops, crocuses, daffodils and tulips making their way out of the melting snow I still linger in the cold, crisp season that is winter.

Frost is so fascinating and beautiful. I really like it when things are sparkling all over the garden and there’s these tiny little shapes made out of glistening frost everywhere.
I’ve got one more batch winter themed pictures to upload after this. After that I have to try to focus on warmer things.
I like Bambi, but when he’s in the garden eating the apple trees I’m not so happy.

And yes, I do know Bambi is a white-tailed deer in the movie, but that’s just because there are no roe deer in the US. In the original fairytale he’s a roe deer.
Anyways. Took this picture Today. Through the bathroom window. I just looked out and there she/he was (bucks have horns, don’t they?), chewing on something from the garden. I was so mad…
But not mad enough to not run for the camera before I opened the window and scared Bambi off.
After my close-Bambi-encounter I spent 8 hours building a long frigging snow wall around the garden. The snow is frozen enough to make blocks out of and hopefully nothing can get in now, be it hares or roe deer… They’ve already ruined the youngest apple tree.
While I was working I saw the same man walk his dog past me on the road about seven times during the day. I wonder what he was thinking I was doing, building my big wall…
I on the other hand wonder if he had nothing else to do but walk his dog all day…
